flexshooter Products

It can be hard to choose the correct FlexShooter head for your needs so here is a quick run down to help you decide.....

Choosing your head

Alright so you are ready to choose the FlexShooter head that you need, here are the 3 main choices that you gotta make!

01

Levered Clamp vs Standard

First you choose how you want to attach your camera / lens to the head, either by our quick release levered clamp or the standard chunky button. The levered clamp is good for dark conditions, working with gloves or if you need a quick release.

02

Black edition vs silver edition?

Next you decide of you want a black edition where both balls are black, or the silver edition where the outer ball is a silver finish. It's personal choice of course but general wildlife photographers and anyone working in hides prefers the black edition.

03

Pro edition or Mini Arca edition

Most photographers choose the PRO edition for load bearing. But for travelling or landscape photographers, where weight / size are important, the lighter yet tough Mini Arca does a perfect job and can take a big 600mm lens no problemo!!

Pro Black Edition with Levered Clamp

Our workhorse, the Pro Black and Silver editions made our company name and are used by many thousands of photographers worldwide. They can take enormous loads upto 45KG yet are small and compact. We have two versions of these heads, the Levered Clamp and the Standard Clamp as shown below, both will do the job for any photographic challenge that you throw at them!

Finish

The outside ball (the one used for levelling) is finished in a matt black finish for those who want to avoid being noticed!

Clamp Style

This head features the all new levered clamp which replaces the original black locking knob. It's designed to reduce mounting time or for those photographers who either work in dark environments or need to make adjustments with cold hands.

Mini Arca Edition with Levered Clamp

Small but perfectly formed, the Mini Arca head is our most compact and designed for loads that do not exceed 9.5KG. The mini Arca will do the job for most photographers and we have plenty using it across the world with full frame systems and 600 / 800mm lenses. It is particularly suited though to those photographers using mirrorless camera systems and looking to save weight without any compromise in performance, perhaps with a 150-400, 200-600 or 200-500mm lens attached. It's a perfect size to fit in any rucksack and we use it extensively for travel abroad.

So which one do I buy?

That is all personal choice, above we have listed the features that each one provides. One difference of course is the price, the lever clamps are more expensive to manufacture hence those editions are slightly more expensive than the standard clamp versions. Size can matter too, so if you are reducing your bag weight completely then the Mini makes perfect sense. Whatever head you choose you can be assured it will not let you down and will help your photography expand.
